What Calendar do I choose?
Calendars in Keyguides Connect
Keyguides Connect offers two calendar options: the Synchronized Calendar and the Virtual Calendar. Let’s break them down for you.
🌀 Synchronized Calendar
This option is for you if you already use a digital calendar (like Google Calendar, Apple/iCloud, or Outlook). When you connect a supported calendar, your availability will automatically sync with Keyguides Connect. That means:
If you're busy elsewhere, you're blocked on our platform too.
You’ll never be double booked.
✅ Supported calendar types:
Google Calendar – easiest to set up and manage.
Apple / iCloud Calendar – supported, but setup requires extra steps.
Outlook / Hotmail / Live / Online.no – fully supported! 🎉
If you use a Microsoft-based email (like @online.no
, @hotmail.com
, @outlook.com
, or @live.com
), chances are you already have a Microsoft calendar – even if you’ve never used it before. You just need to log in and approve the connection.
📌 We will never see your calendar content – only your availability.
📱 Tip for iPhone users:
You might think you’re using your Google Calendar, but it could be iPhone’s default calendar. In your phone’s settings, you can choose to add events to your Google Calendar. That’s the one Keyguides Connect syncs with – so make sure you’ve got the right one selected.
🗓️ Virtual Calendar
Don’t have a synced calendar? No problem. Use our built-in Virtual Calendar.
With this option:
Bookings from Keyguides Connect are added automatically ✅
Other activities (like bookings from your own website or OTAs) must be added manually ⌛
It’s a great solution if you prefer to keep everything in one place or don’t use a digital calendar. But me mindful that all activity needs to be added as unavailability slots in your settings.
⏰ Updating Availability
In addition to syncing your calendar, you can also set your general availability – like opening hours. These settings help define when you could be bookable, but your actual calendar (synced or virtual) will block out the specific times. See our Availability documentation for details.
