Hei (as we say in Norway) and welcome to Tromsø, the capital of the Arctic in the north of Norway! My name is Susanne and I love wind and weather and nature! That's why I live in the Arctic! Still, some civilization is nice, that’s why I live in the beautiful city of Tromsø! If you are curious about how we live and survive in the Arctic, I would love to share my passion and my excitement with you! Over the past 30 years, I have been guiding guests in Tromsø, in Norway, and Scandinavia in summer and in winter. I have been walking thousands of kilometers on city walks in Tromsø, have spent hundreds of nights out under the northern lights, and have traveled all varieties of tours in Norway and Scandinavia. I was born in Germany, raised in Greece, Germany, and Norway, and having lived in various countries, I find my multicultural background comes in handy when welcoming guests from all over the world. In addition to my passion for guiding, I am working as a corporate trainer and a trainer for new tour guides, city guides, and northern lights guides. What does a tour guide do in her free time? Of course, I love traveling! Having lived in various continents, I enjoy discovering the European countries these years. Though, living in Antarctica is on the list... Situated on the island of Tromsø, our city center is small; most of it we can explore by walking. Most of the “tourist highlights” can easily be reached by walking and many of my “hidden gems” can be explored by foot. Some places, though, like the Arctic Cathedral or the Cable car are easier to reach by either public transport or by arranging a private car. Other places, like the outer islands or the hunt for the northern lights we will reach with a private car.
